This notice explains how we collect, use, and share personal data when you visit our site, create an account, place an order, or contact us. It is designed to meet the requirements of the EU/EEA GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Identity & Contact: name, email, phone (optional), billing & shipping addresses.
- Account data: login identifier, social login ID (if you sign in with Google/Apple/GitHub), preferences.
- Order data: items purchased, payment status, delivery information.
- Payment data: processed by our payment provider (e.g., Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: messages to support, reviews, survey responses.
- Technical/usage data: IP address, device/browser, pages viewed; collected per your cookie/consent choices (see Cookies Policy).
Purposes & legal bases (GDPR)
- Provide the site & fulfil orders (contract).
- Customer support & returns (contract / legitimate interests).
- Fraud prevention & security (legitimate interests, legal obligations).
- Analytics to improve services (consent via cookies).
- Marketing emails (consent; or “soft opt-in” for similar products to existing customers where permitted). You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Legal compliance (tax, accounting, consumer protection).
International transfers
If personal data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses) and assess local laws where required.
Retention
- Orders & invoices: 6 years (tax/accounting).
- Customer account data: for the life of the account, then deletion or anonymisation after a defined period.
- Marketing consents/preferences: until you withdraw consent or object.
Your rights
You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC) in Ireland. Contact us at support@onicoffeeroasters.ie to exercise your rights.
How to delete your account & data
- Sign in to your account.
- Click your avatar (bottom left) → Account.
- Click Delete my account and confirm the request.
We’ll remove your profile and login information. Completed orders are retained but detached from your account for tax and audit compliance.
Can’t sign in? Email support@onicoffeeroasters.ie from the email on file and request deletion.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege access). No system is 100% secure.
Children
Our site is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We’ll post any updates here. Material changes will be notified where appropriate.
